Chapman Partnership invited our Spiritual Development team to its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 19, 2017. Both chaplains were able to make it to the luncheon to continue to continue to network, and celebrate with Chapman Partnership. The luncheon started with a welcome from the CEO and president of Chapman Partnership along with introduction of esteem guest. The total amount of attendees were over a 100 from many walks of life, and spiritual foundations. Throughout the program, Chapman Partnership stated that they are extremely thankful for the volunteers that give their services to the homeless population.
One of the amazing statistics that was presented was that in 1993 in Miami, there were over 8,000 homeless on the street. Based upon the last census, the number has dropped dramatically to a little less than 900 that are currently on the street.
Also, Chapman Partnership awarded Riverside Christian Ministries Inc., with a certificate of appreciation for their tireless efforts regarding the homeless population. Overall, the event was very nice, and both chaplains were able to build resources in the community.
