In the spirit of celebrating Second Chance Month in April, Miami Vineyard in Kendall, with the help of Better Together, recently hosted a second chance job fair. The Second Chance Job Fair aims to connect individuals with criminal backgrounds with employers open to offering them employment opportunities.
This year marked the 3rd annual job fair, and it was a significant success. One of the key components of the fair was the resource section, where attendees could learn about various support services available to them. Among the participants were Diana Rodriguez, Case Manager at the Riverside House Emergency Shelter for the Homeless, and Michelle Jenkins, Life Coach, and Special Events Coordinator for the Riverside House Residential Re-entry Center. They hosted a vendor table for Riverside House, providing valuable information and support to attendees.
The job fair was a testament to the power of second chances and the importance of providing opportunities for individuals looking to rebuild their lives. It was a collaborative effort that brought together community organizations, employers, and individuals with a shared goal of creating a more inclusive and supportive community for everyone.
