Empowering a New Beginning: Thomas Houge’s Journey

By June 20, 2024 June 28th, 2024 No Comments

At Riverside House, we believe in empowering individuals to rebuild their lives through compassion and support. Recently, we witnessed a heartwarming moment that captured the spirit of our mission. Thomas Houge, a resident of the Homeless Trust, received a generous donation from our clothing closet that will help him start a new chapter in his life.

Thomas secured a new job as a server at Benihana, a testament to his determination and resilience. To help him succeed in his new role, Riverside House provided him with a selection of men’s dress shirts. The joy and gratitude Thomas expressed remind us of the impact that kindness and community support can have.

With a beaming smile, Thomas shared his appreciation with his Case Manager, D. Rodriguez, saying, “Thank you so much for the shirts! I appreciate it so much. So grateful for you and Riverside House.” His words touched our hearts and reminded us of the importance of the work we do every day.

How You Can Help

Thomas’s story is just one example of how donations can make a significant difference in someone’s life. As we continue to support more individuals on their paths to self-sufficiency, we are in need of the following items:

  1. Men’s Toiletries
  2. Backpacks
  3. Men’s Clothing and Shoes
