Why It Matters
Building the foundation for independence
Community-based reentry requires personal accountability and consistent follow-through. Regular check-ins, progress tracking, and transparent communication help participants stay on course while living independently — building trust with case managers, employers, and family members.
Reentry works when people have access to real opportunities — jobs, education, and community support. The Riverside Reentry 2.0 Program creates pathways from supervision to self-sufficiency by connecting participants to resources, technology, and guidance that open doors.
Independence requires taking ownership of daily decisions and long-term goals. Participants learn to navigate challenges, meet obligations, and make responsible choices that strengthen their standing with employers, families, and the community.

Connections to housing resources, documentation assistance, benefits navigation, and practical support for independent living.

Frequently asked questions
We provide clear, straightforward answers to help understand our reentry services and processes.
Riverside Reentry 2.0 is a non-residential, community-based program. Participants live independently in their own homes or community housing and come to Riverside House or other locations for check-ins, case management, and access to resources. The Residential Reentry Program provides 24/7 supervised housing inside our facility for individuals in the final phase of federal custody. Reentry 2.0 serves people who need continued support and accountability but do not require residential placement.
The program serves returning citizens under supervision, justice-impacted individuals seeking structured support, alumni of our Residential Reentry Program, and anyone referred by federal agencies, probation officers, community partners, churches, families, or graduates. Participants must be living independently and willing to engage in accountability, case management, and progress tracking.
Riverside Reentry 2.0 is referral-based. Referrals come from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Probation Office, probation officers, social service agencies, community organizations, faith-based partners, churches, families, graduates, or internal Riverside House case managers. If you believe you qualify or want to refer someone, contact our main office at (305) 326-9799, or email us at info@riverside-house.org.

It's a positive co-working space where participants can drop in to access computers, internet, job search tools, and trained staff who assist with applications, documentation, and guidance on employment, family reunification, life skills, spiritual development, counseling, and more. Participants enrolled in Reentry 2.0 can visit during scheduled hours. Call (305) 326-9799 or email info@riverside-house.org for more information.
Yes. Riverside Reentry 2.0 provides job search assistance, resume development, interview preparation, employer connections, and workplace readiness support. We also connect participants to housing resources, benefits navigation, and community partners that assist with long-term housing stability. While we do not provide direct housing, we help participants identify and access housing options.
Length of participation varies based on supervision requirements, individual needs, and progress toward goals. Some participants remain in the program for a few months, while others stay engaged for several years — especially alumni participating in our three-year post-release support initiative. Participants may continue as long as they are actively engaged and making progress, or until they complete the goals set by their supervising agency or referring partner.
No. Riverside House is a faith-based, non-denominational organization, and participants have access to voluntary spiritual guidance, prayer groups, Bible study, and pastoral care. All participants are supported with dignity and respect, regardless of their religious beliefs or level of spiritual engagement.
This place is a dream come true for people coming out of prison. The staff are caring, professional, and devoted to helping the formerly incarcerated reenter society with dignity and confidence.
