Resident Success Stories
At Riverside House, success is built step by step. Each journey looks different, but every story reflects resilience, effort, and the opportunity to begin again.
Here are a few recent examples of residents who have moved forward during their time in our Emergency Shelter:
Cameron Smith: From Stability to Independence
Cameron Smith stayed with Riverside House from October 2, 2024, to November 3, 2025. During his time in the shelter, he secured a stable, high-paying construction job that allowed him to rebuild his finances and eventually move into his own studio. His journey reflects the impact of consistency, hard work, and having the right support in place.
Jose Williams: Rebuilding Through Support Systems
Jose Williams spent four months in the shelter focusing on restoring critical resources. By working through the process of signing ICE parole and reactivating his disability benefits with Social Security, he was able to secure low-income housing and transition into independent living.
Liam Jones: Starting Over After Displacement
Liam Jones stayed in the shelter for eight months after being displaced due to inclement weather and without access to his documents. During his time at Riverside House, he secured employment, rebuilt stability, and ultimately moved into a duplex with his partner.
Each of these stories is a reminder that progress takes time, patience, and support. At Riverside House, we are committed to walking alongside every individual as they work toward stability, independence, and a new chapter.
