Miami Girl Scout Troop #14334 Donates 50 Welcome Bags to Homeless Residents

We celebrated the Girl Scout Troop’s generosity and commitment to their community together at an end-of-the-year awards ceremony. The theme was based on the classic movie Home Alone.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Jacquese Canty and the incredible leadership team of Girl Scout Troop #14334 for their generous donation of 50 Welcome Bags for the homeless residents of our Emergency Shelter Program at Riverside House. These thoughtfully prepared bags arrived at the perfect time, spreading holiday cheer and kindness during the Christmas season.

Welcome Bags are a lifeline for our residents as they enter the shelter program, many with little to no essentials. The bags include items such as:

  • Basic toiletries (deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste)
  • Small Bibles, planners, or journals
Their contribution ensures our residents feel supported and cared for as they take their first steps toward stability and hope. We’re also grateful to Carmen Bell, our Community and Donor Relations Coordinator, who represented Riverside House at the Girl Scouts’ end-of-the-year awards ceremony to accept this generous donation.  Together, we’re making a difference—one welcome bag at a time.
