Serving with Purpose: Georgia Southern University and CRU Return to Riverside House

From March 16–19, 2026, Riverside House had the privilege of welcoming back students from Georgia Southern University and CRU for this year’s Volunteer Project Event. Following the success of last year’s visit, it was encouraging to see this partnership continue to grow through a shared commitment to faith, service, and community impact.

CRU, a campus ministry dedicated to helping students grow in their relationship with Christ and live out their faith in meaningful ways, brought a group of passionate volunteers eager to make a difference. Throughout their time at Riverside House, the students devoted themselves to a variety of hands-on projects that helped enhance our campus and support our mission.

Volunteers participated in painting projects, general maintenance, and a community clean-up effort around the Riverside House property. Their hard work and dedication contributed to creating a more welcoming, well-maintained environment for the individuals and families we serve each day.

Their impact extended beyond our campus as well. During their visit, the group engaged in outreach efforts at Florida International University and the University of Miami, while also partnering with a local Haitian Baptist church to support service initiatives within the broader community.

Experiences like these serve as a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together with a heart for service. The willingness of these students to invest their time, energy, and compassion reflects the values that are at the core of Riverside House and the communities we serve.

We are deeply grateful to Georgia Southern University and CRU for their continued partnership and commitment to making a positive difference. Their service not only strengthened our campus but also encouraged those around them through their example of faith in action.

Thank you for helping us create lasting impact, one act of service at a time.
